Donald Eugene Rappe, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away
peacefully in his sleep on January 18, 2026.
He is survived by his children Rachel Suddeth, John Rappe, Michael and Suzette Rappe,
David Rappe, and Martha and Felix Cantu as well as many grandchildren and great
grandchildren. Don was a proud graduate of the University of Chicago, and had a masters
degree from DePaul University. He loved to sing around campfires, in church choirs, and just
about anywhere. His greatest joy in life was his family. His sadness was the loss of his siblings
Robert, Kenneth, and Kathryn as well as his wife Beverly too long before his time was up.
The funeral will be held at Church of the Advent Episcopal | Brownsville TX on Friday January
23rd. There will be a bilingual service at 11:00 in the morning, followed by snacks in the
fellowship room.
