Juan De Leon Blanco, 78, of Brownsville, TX, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, January 14 th , 2026, at Valley Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Matamoros, Mexico on October 28th , 1947.
He is preceded in death by his mother Ignacia Blanco; his father Federico Blanco; and his sister Graciela Blanco. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 60 years Hermila Blanco; sons: Juan Jr. and Jorge, daughter: Karina; grandchildren: Chelsea, Itzel, Keyla, Joslyn, Jessika, Hugo, and Josue; and great grandchildren: Angelo and Julianna. As well as several sisters and brothers.
The most important thing to him was his family, he loved spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys with his daughter Karina and grandson Hugo. His favorite time of the year were the holidays and eating homemade tamales made by his wife surrounded by his family. He will be missed.
Visitation is scheduled from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 18th , 2026, with
recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. The chapel will open at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 19th , 2026, with a funeral mass at 2:00 p.m. at St. Eugene de Mazenod Catholic Church. The interment will begin at 3:00 p.m. at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
