Maria Raquel “Rachel” Galvan, age 67, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family in the comfort of her home, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on December 17, 1958, in Brownsville, Texas, to Rodolfo and Eva Rodriguez, Rachel lived a life rooted in faith, love, and devotion to her family. She was known for her gentle spirit, her generous heart, and her ability to make everyone feel welcomed and cherished.
Rachel found joy in arts and crafts, backyard BBQs, family gatherings, and the music of the 1980s. She especially enjoyed market days with her husband, trips to garage sales, and visiting Michael’s, where she loved finding inspiration for her creative projects.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Roberto Galvan; her sister, Alma Rossetti; her daughter, Priscilla Stafford; her cherished grandchildren: Andrew Soto, Aleczander Alaniz, Alexis Alaniz, Adrian Vega, Leah Parson, Jayden Parson, Serenity Parson, Trayson Stafford, and Ava Stafford; and her great-grandson, Aleczander Alaniz Jr. She is also lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She now enters eternal life, reunited with her parents, Rodolfo and Eva Rodriguez, and her beloved daughter, Norma Araceli Soto, where they rest together in God’s everlasting peace.
Visitation is scheduled from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 1st, 2026, with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services conclude at the end of the evening.
