Ramona Lopez (Mona), Age 50, of Brownsville, Texas, passed away on January 27, 2026.
Mona Lopez was a beloved daughter, sister, and aunt whose kindness and warmth touched all who knew her. She was known for her loving and caring nature, as well as her generous spirit. Mona enjoyed arts and crafts and took great joy in shopping for and caring for her loved ones.
She possessed a youthful spirit and had a passion for traveling and attending concerts. Above all, Mona consistently placed the needs of others before her own, leaving a lasting impression on the hearts of those she leaves behind.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Ramona is survived by her parents: Maria De Jesus Salazar (Jose Salazar †); her siblings: Veronica Salazar and Jose Manuel Salazar (Mary Salazar), her nieces and nephews: Roberto Oliva, Christopher Solis, Fabiola Oliva, Rafael Ramirez, Jose Manuel Salazar Jr, Camila Salazar.
Ramona was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Agustin Rios (Josefina Garcia); paternal grandparents: Manuel Salazar (Francisca Martinez).
A visitation for Ramona will be held Tuesday, February 3 rd , 2026, from 8:00a.m. to 12:00p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, 657 Springmart Blvd., Brownsville, TX 78526. A chapel service will take place at 12:00p.m. Interment is to follow at 1:00p.m. at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Rd Brownsville, TX.
