Raul Campos Gomez, 87, of Brownsville Texas passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026, at his home. Raul Campos was a faithfull and devoted husband to his wife Librada Campos Echavarria for 57 years. He was a devoted father that worked hard for many years to provide for his family. He instilled family unity, honesty and taught his children to work hard for what they wanted. He lead by example in every sense of the word. Raul Campos Gomez is survived by his wife Librada Campos Echavarria, and 4 grown children, Raul Campos Jr. (Belinda), Alfonso Campos (Jovana), Lidiana Diaz (Luis), and Ricardo Campos (Belinda), and many grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as one brother and one siter, many nieces, and
nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Felipe Campos, mother Viviana Campos Gomez, and son Joel Campos as well as many brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Prayer Service will commence at at 6p.m. The chapel opens at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Eugene de Mazenod Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow to Guillen Community Cemetery at 12:00 p.m.
