Juanita Barbosa

Juanita Barbosa, 74, of Brownsville Texas, devoted Sister, Aunt, and Friend entered eternal rest on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville. Juanita Barbosa was born November 20, 1951, in Brownsville, Texas, daughter of Jose Barbosa Sr. and Francisca Barbosa.

Juanita Barbosa is proceeded in death by her parents Jose Barbosa and Francisca Barbosa Garcia. Her grandparents, Luis Garcia, Juanita Garcia Jose Barbosa, Nieves Barbosa.

She is survived by her siblings Graciela Barbosa, Elena Barbosa, Jose Barbosa Jr. Raul Barbosa (Martha), George Barbosa (Yolanda), Daniel Barbosa (Maria)

Her numerous nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews plus all other family members she helped raised.

Special thanks to those who took care of her until her final days, her brother Raul Barbosa and nieces Monica Gudino, Martha Mata, Esmeralda Mata and Francisca Velazquez and friend Cecilia Lerma.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a 6:00 p.m. Prayer Service. Visitation will resume Monday, January 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Funeral Home. A Funeral mass will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, followed by Interment at 3:00 p.m. at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
