Ninfa R. Gomez

Ninfa R. Gomez

Ninfa R. Gomez, 89, of Brownsville, TX, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, entered into eternal rest on June 30, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Brownsville, TX., on October 12, 1935.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Carlos Rodriguez and Trinidad Loya Rodriguez; her cherished husband, Arnoldo Gomez; her dear children, Marta Laura Perez, Cynthia “Cindy” Perez, Gilbert “Gilly” Perez, David “Gino” Perez.

Left to cherish her memory will be her children, Alfredo Perez (Diana), Linda Perez Lutz (Bill), Jaime Perez (Melanie), and her daughter-in-law Alejandra; her grandchildren Crystal Perez (Will), Carlos “Charlie” Perez, Richard Perez (Cynthia), Rebecca Perez (Joey), Ricardo Uribe (Melissa), Gino Perez, Robert Perez, Lisa M. Perez, Kyli Chen, Cory Chen, and Cage Chappell; great grandchildren Isabella Perez, Jadon Perez, Mateo Sanchez, Lita Sanchez, Bryson Perez, Ricky, Ryan, Randy, and Melanie Rose Uribe.

She was a single mother raising seven children while working in retail.  She worked for many years at Sears (downtown) then working at Kroger, where she met the love of her life and married our stepfather, Arnold.

She had so much kindness, compassion and a strong devotion to GOD.  We enjoyed seeing the happiness in her eyes as she watched and cheered on her favorite baseball team the Houston Astros (especially Jose Altuve). Also, she had a passion for jigsaw puzzles.

We are thankful for 89 almost 90 years that we had the pleasure of calling her mom, grandma “wela”, friend and neighbor.  She will be deeply missed and her memory will endure forever.  We will find it difficult to envision life without her.
