Mr. Cruz De Nazareth Rey Sr. of Brownsville, Tx devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend, entered into eternal rest at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
PERSONALITY, CHARACTER AND LIFE INTERESTS
He was born in San Benito, Texas and raised in San Pedro, was a member of San Pedro Catholic Church, and upon moving to Brownsville and became a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church. Mr Rey was a welder by trade and spent several years working at Amfels, he loved to spend time with his loving wife Mary and their extended family. Always joking with his stepson Rudy, and creating nicknames for everyone in the family.
He was much loved by his wife, children, grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. Mr Rey enjoyed tending to his garden in the company of his wife where they developed a secret environment friendly home recipe to grow their roses, he also loved fishing, watching wrestling, barbecuing and building manual carpentry arts and crafts.

His parents Mariano Q. Rey and Rebeca E. Rey, brother Juan Manuel Rey, and first wife Guadalupe R. Rey.
LEFT TO CHERISH HIS MEMORY
Mr Rey will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 32 years Mrs. Mary S. Rey; His children AnaMaria Rey, Cruz Rey Jr., and his stepchildren Ramiro, Ricardo, Rodolfo, and Randall; and his grandchildren Lupita, Marcos, Alejandra, Richie, Jonathan, Corinna, Brianna, Josh, Kayla, Alexa, Laurie, Elizabeth and Alessandra. Brothers Jacinto (Rosa+) Rey, Mariano (Trina+) Rey, Hector (Adelaida) Rey, Jesus (Mary) Rey, Luis (Rubina) Rey, Carlos Rey, Gloria (Enrique+) Ramirez, Juanita (Guillermo)Torres, Josie (David+) Gonzalez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
SERVICES
A memorial service is scheduled from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, 2025 with a celebration of life service at 3:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services conclude at the end of the evening.
