Catalina Martinez, 89 of Brownsville, TX devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend entered into eternal rest on May 24th, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Jerez de Garcia Salinas, Zacatecas, Mexico.
She is preceded in death by parents Maria Del Carmen Bermudez and Antonio Luna, husband Pedro C. Martinez, Brother Antonio Lopez and sister Ema Gloria Zuniga.
Left to cherish her memory is daughters Maria G. Martinez (Ruben Saldaña), Maria De Los Angeles Alcocer-Martinez (Miguel), Yolanda Martinez (Dora). Grandchildren Luis A. Portales (Marisela), Pedro A. Martinez, Italia Villasana (Oliver) Kaitlyn and Kael Saldana, Adolfo, Miguel and Adela Alcocer. And Great Grandchildren Oliver, Emily, and Isai Villasana. Sisters Maria Guadalupe Bueno, Alicia Garcia, Consuelo Herrera, Eloise Landa. Brothers Hector and Jose Manuel Lopez, numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is scheduled from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025 with recitation of The Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. The chapel opens at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church and interment will follow at 11:00 a.m. to Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
