Joseph Nenque III

Joseph Nenque III

Joseph Nenque III, 62, entered eternal rest on May 10, 2025. He was born February 7, 1963 in Brownsville, TX.

Joseph, better known as Coach to most, was a loving and high spirited individual. There was never any doubt if he was around as his loud and distinct voice could be heard by anyone in the vicinity. When entering a room, his purpose was always to make at least one person laugh which was undoubtedly a cinch because of his comical ways. From back in his younger days, running down Boca Chica Blvd with his long curly hair to now driving around town in his infamous Tacoma with his Aquatic Workout sign, he was seen and recognized by so many.

Joseph worked for the Brownsville Independent School District for 35 years as a coach at El Jardin Elementary, from where he recently retired. His love of helping people be better versions of themselves led him to continue his passion with his water aerobics classes at Brownsville Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine.

He was a diehard Chicago Bears fan and felt that this was their year since our new Pope is from Chicago.

Joseph is proceeded in death by his father Jose Nenque Jr and his mother Maria Nenque.

Left to cherish his memory is his sister Elva Leticia Reyna; his daughter Joanna (Marco) Nenque Sandate; granddaughter Victoria Annalise Sandate; nieces Jessica Ann Reyna & Denise Lee Reyna; great nephews Miguel Angel (Mary Velasquez) Gonzalez, Adrien Gabriel Gonzalez & Eli-Ayden Gonzalez; great niece Mia James Gonzalez & girlfriend Yesenia Peña.

Visitation will take place on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a celebration of life at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services will conclude at the end of the evening.

Joe was the best as a physical therapist in the swimming pool. He would encourage me to keep moving and he finally got me to go into the swimming pool with his help. I trusted him getting me in and out of the pool. He made me love the water because I could move without pain. Joe had the best personality and love for his patients. He is now swimming in the heavenly clouds. May you rest in peace with Jesus, your Mom and Dad that you took care of and loved immensely.
You were a great coach with a big heart for all especially for the disabled. God Bless You and your daughter and the rest of the family. 🙏❤️❤️
