Carlos Hernandez, 54, a good-spirited man, passed away on May 3, 2025, accompanied by his wife, Patricia Ann Hernandez, and other immediate family members. He was born on August 23, 1970, in Brownsville, TX, the youngest of 12 children.
Carlos was genuinely the most understanding, humble, and lovable man on earth. No one ever had anything bad to say about him since he never believed in conflict. However, people always found a way to interfere negatively; he never found it right to fight back, so he would just leave things alone. As much as he wanted to fix things; he never wanted to make things worse. He’d always just say that things happened for a reason. Which in many cases he was right. There was never anything that got in the way of doing what he wanted to do in life. No matter how hard it was to achieve his goals, he persevered through it all. Nothing was going to stop that man. Whether it was from fixing cars, to being a caregiver to his mother, or most importantly making his family proud.
Carlos worked for the Brownsville Independent School District for 10 years, and he dedicated himself towards the Cameron County Sheriff’s Department for 25 years. He worked in multiple departments in the jail division such as, a detention officer, property division manager, and he also ran the purchasing division for all the county jails. Even though he was going through his medical treatments and procedures, he never stopped working until the very end.
He was not only a strong man, but he was a very supportive father to his daughter, Carly Ann Hernandez. He was always the first one to attend her sports events, such as volleyball and tennis. Everyone in the room was able to hear his strong cheers for his daughter. No matter how she felt after a game, he made sure to tell her that she was strong and did her best. One thing about him was that he loved watching his daughter dance. Just the sight of seeing her glide along the stage made him feel so accomplished of what she has become as a young lady. He had taught her everything that she needed to know as she matured such as, being a handywoman, hard worker, respectful human being, and most importantly an understanding woman with a big heart.
He was married to his beloved wife, Patricia Ann Hernandez, for 34 years. He made sure that she felt well respected, comfortable, and had everything that she needed. There was not one day that went by without him complementing her with graceful words.
Although Carlos is no longer physically with us today, he will always be a part of his family’s hearts forever.
