Maria Esther Soto, 84, of Brownsville, Texas devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend entered eternal rest on Thursday, January 11, 2024 in Harlingen, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents Rafael Pizana and Esther A. Pizana, her sister Barbara Sierra.
Esther Soto was an active member of the American Embassy -Mexico D.F. Women’s Group where she volunteered her time and was actively involved in coordinating projects with La Cruz Roja Mexicana.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Simon (Carmen) Soto Jr., Rafael (Mary Lou Garcia) Soto, Roberto Soto and John Edward Soto; her grandchildren, Araly Soto, Jacob Soto, Marisa Lisette Soto, Natalia Soto and Angel Soto; her sisters, Ernestina Pizana, Emma Cantu, Adela Blanco, Josefina Soto, Janie Garcia and brother Rafael Pizana Jr.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00pm on Monday, January 15, 2024, with recitation of the Holy Rosary starting at 7:00 pm. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Mary Mother of The Church. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Serving as Pallbearers will be, Simon Soto Jr., Rafael Soto, Roberto Soto, Antonio Soto, Jacob Soto and Joel Munivez.
