Consuelo Garza


Consuelo Garza, 52, of Los Fresnos, Texas devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, entered into eternal rest on March 13, 2017 at Sunshine Haven Special Care facility surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Brownsville, Texas on September 9, 1964.

She is preceded in death by her father Jose G. Lopez.

Left to cherish her memory is her mother Oralia D. Lopez, daughters Jennifer Chris Garza (Lucas Mitchell Lucio) Cassandra Rose (Anthony) Rangel, grandchildren Luna Persephone Lucio and Arabelle Rose Rangel; siblings Norma D. (Rolando+) Galindo, Jose Lopez (Graciela) Jr., Esther Lopez, and Manuel (Mia) Lopez. Also, surviving numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Consuelo was such a loving and giving woman. She had a special place in her heart for every family member, friend, co-worker and student. She loved tending to her garden every day. Roses were her favorite plant. She was the Dallas Cowboys #1 fan and watched her team every Sunday. To honor her wishes we request for everyone to wear a Cowboys t-shirt or jersey for her burial services.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. There will be a funeral mass held on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Heavenly Father Catholic Church with burial to follow at Los Cuates Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jose Lopez Jr., Manuel Lopez, Lucas Lucio, Remigio Garza Jr. Nichoals P. Galindo, and Juan Hernandez Jr. Services are under the guidance of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. 657 Springmart Blvd., Brownsville, Texas 78526. (956) 350-8485

    God called upon one of his Angels, He must have a special reason for doing so. I for one am grateful that he put her in our path to help with our angel Andrew and with all the other angels she helped during her time here on earth.
    We will miss her but know that she is now exactly where she belongs, with God.

    Estimada familia Garza. Nada es comparable al profundo dolor de perder a un ser querido. Se siente un vacio y una tristeza muy grande pero podemos encontrar consuelo en el mensaje de la biblia. El salmista imploro a Dios: “Sirva tu bondad amorosa por favor, para consolarme” (Sal. 119:76). Una manera muy destacada como nuestro Padre celestial nos conforta es dandonos animo y guia. El Salmo 119:105 dice que su palabra es una lampara y una luz que ilumina nuestro camino. Le animamos a encontrar consuelo en el mensaje de la biblia.
