Richard David Meyn, 58, long time Bayview, Texas resident passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 17, 2016.
Richard was the youngest of Ann and David Meyn. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Melba Meyn; son, Jason Meyn; daughter, Nicole (Gary) Solomon; three grandsons, Noah David, Ryan Andrew and Braden Richard; sisters, Diana (Chris) Delaup and Gail (Bob) Yates; and his many nieces and nephews.
Richard served his community in many capacities throughout the years. He was most strongly, a family man. He cherished his time at home, and spent hours working on his yard Richard also loved fishing and spent many hours in the bay. Words can’t convey the loss we all feel with his death. He will always be remembered as a constant jokester, a loyal, honest and hardworking man. Richard above all cherished his family, and adored his grandchildren. He was a blessing to all who came into his life, and put everyone before himself. Watch over us Richie and see you on the other side.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to GCCA (Gulf Coast Conservation Association).
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. 657 Springmart Blvd., Brownsville, Texas. (956) 350-8485

There aren’t words to express the sorrow I feel for your family. What a treasure we’ve lost (for a time, anyway). Go hang with your dad, Richard. Y’all go fishing in that big bay in Heaven. We’ll see you soon enough.

I’m so sorry to hear this sad news of Richard. He was the sweetest man to myself and my mom. I remember back to the early Rodeo days and Christmas with your family when he pranked me with that old gasoline nozzle . I had driven off with the nozzle from a Gas Station. He was quite the jokester. My thoughts are with all of you Melba.
