Maria Del Carmen Cancino Garcia 88, a beloved mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-aunt, passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughters on June 30, 2026. She was born to Pedro and Irene Garcia in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico on January 16,1938. In 1960, she married her husband Luciano Cancino, soon after, they migrated to the United States in search of a better life and opportunity for the family that was to come.
She was a Christian and a devoted servant to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her faith was the foundation of her life. She lived with compassion, humility and grace, always seeking to serve God in everything she did.
She was a devoted mother to six daughters, who were her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. Her love reached far beyond her own children, after several nieces and nephews lost their own mother at a young age, she welcomed them with open arms, offering them the same love and guidance that she gave her daughters. To them, she was more than an aunt- she was a second mother.
She was endlessly proud of her daughters and never missed the opportunity to speak of their accomplishments. Watching her family grow and thrive brought her immeasurable happiness, and she celebrated each of them with unwavering love and encouragement.
She had a remarkable gift for making people feel loved. Whether, with a home cooked meal, a baked cake, or simply gathering everyone around the table, she expressed her love through acts of kindness and generosity. Every family gathering became a cherished memory because of the warmth she created.
She also found joy in spending time with friends at Mi Jardin Daycare Center, where her kind heart and caring spirit touched many lives. At the daycare, her birthdays were especially meaningful to her. She loved celebrating surrounded by music, laughter, and every member of her family present. Her greatest wish was simply for everyone to be together enjoying one another and creating happy memories.
Though our hearts ache with her passing, we find comfort in knowing she lived a life filled with faith, purpose, generosity, and unconditional love. Her legacy lives in her children grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and all whose lives were forever changed by her kindness.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and joyfully remembered until we are reunited in the presence of our Lord.
