Cuauhtemoc De La Garza

Rev. Cuauhtemoc De La Garza, 86, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Valley Baptist Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Mexico, on July 23, 1938.

He is preceded in death by his parents Roberto and Maria Guadalupe De La Garza and a brother Netza De La Garza.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Juanina De La Garza; his children Kareny (David) Sanchez, Yemima (Vidal) Muniz, Eliezer (Laura) De La Garza. Azael De La Garza; a sister Mireya De La Garza; a niece Xochitl Ortega; grandchildren Cessya, Arely (Julian), David (Jaky), Sarai (Josue), Rebecca, Josue, Fernanda (Fernando), Alejandro (Maria), Danae, Jonathan, Samuel Benjamin, Alexa; and great-grandchildren Natalia and Mia.

Rev. Cuauhtemoc was a pastor for more than 60 years in California, Monterrey, Cd. Mante and Brownsville, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2024, with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. The chapel opens at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with a 10:00 a.m. chapel service, then interment will follow to Buena Vista Burial Park.
