Javier Ramirez Ruiz, 83, of Brownville, Texas, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, entered eternal rest on Thursday, April 03, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Guanajuato, Mexico on May 18, 1941.
He is preceded in death by his parents Maria de Jesus Ramirez Ruiz and Jesus Ruiz; his daughter, Leticia Ruiz Sotuyo; his siblings, Johnny Guadalupe Gutierrez, Terry M. Trevino, Rogelio Gutierrez, Elias Ramirez Ruiz, and Manuel Ramirez Ruiz.
Left to cherish his memory is his life loving wife Berta Echavarria Ruiz; his children, Johnny Ruiz, Patricia Ruiz Solis, and Norma Ruiz Zuniga; his 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
A loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he was a man who loved his family with all his heart. His children and grandchildren were his greatest pride. Beyond family, he had a passion for life, and his love for football, he was a well-known loyal Cowboys fan. Music was a passion of his, and he had a particular fondness for corridos. He also enjoyed watching old Western films. For many years, he worked as a bartender at Fort Brown Resaca Club, where he built relationships and memories that lasted a lifetime. He also proudly owned and operated Ruiz Bar and the 123 Lounge, both of which became local landmarks where friends gathered, stories were shared, and laughter.
Visitation will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 08, 2025, with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 5:00 p.m. and at 6:00 p.m. a mariachi tribute will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services conclude at the end of the evening.
