Mary Helen Ovalle, 58, of Brownsville, TX, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend, entered eternal rest on October 25, 2024, in Brownsville, TX. She was born in Brownsville, TX on November 4, 1965.
Helen worked for UTRGV as an Administrative Assistant for many years. She spent the last couple of years enjoying family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Helen was the happiest being around family and friends. She had a passion for fishing, bingo and crafting. She was big on celebrations and holidays. She loved dancing and listening to Tejano music. She was a big phytophile (She had a tremendous love for plants). Her journey does not end here, she will continue to watch and protect us from above.
She was preceded in death by her parents Roberto Treviño Sr. and Maria Guadalupe Treviño, and her son Julian Robert Treviño.
She is survived by her children Stephanie Lyn Lopez (Ramiro Medrano) and Justin Reigh Treviño (Valerie Hernandez), her grandchildren and great grandchildren; her husband George Ovalle, and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 4, 2024, with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services conclude at the end of the evening.
