Fidela Rico Arredondo, 100, of Brownsville, TX, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2024, at Valley Baptist Medical Center Brownsville. She was born in Mexico on April 24, 1924.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bartolo Elias Torres; her sister Irais Rico Galvan; her brothers Bacilio Rico Arredondo and Epifanio Rico Arredondo; her daughter and son-in-law Epifania Diaz and Jose Nazario Villa.
She is survived by her sister and brother Pilar Rico Arredondo and Mauro Rico Arredondo; her children Toribio Elias, Efren Elias, Severiano Elias, Felipa Moraida (Tomas J. Moraida), Julia Villa; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 21, 2024, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m., on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, with the chapel opening at 11:00 a.m., funeral mass at Our Heavenly Father at 2:00 p.m. and interment to follow at 3:00 p.m., at Buena Vista Burial Park.
