Raul Lopez Jr, 77, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Valley Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Brownsville, TX, on July 19, 1947.
He is preceded in death by his parents Benita Lozano Lopez and Raul Lopez.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Georgina G. Lopez; his children Raul Lopez IV, Robert Alfredo Lopez, Ricardo Raul Lopez, Alixzandra Elena Lopez, Abigail Ester Lopez; his four grandchildren Raul Lopez V, Angelita Iracheta, Alan Jacob Lopez, Ari Lopez; and three beloved great-grandchildren; his brothers and sister Jose Manuel Lopez, Lorenzo Lopez, Saul Lopez, Ernesto Lopez, and Alma Lopez.
Raul was the proud owner of Lopez Bail Bonds established in 1986. He was a devoted and loving husband and father, a true soldier of the Light. He dedicated his time to family and the service of God. His hobbies included BBQ’ing, fishing, hunting, and was a lifetime fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He was a Vietnam Veteran, graduate of the FBI Academy, Brownsville PD, Chaplin, and civil servant. He graduated from the International School of Ministry and would love to continue learning and growing in the Word. He accepted Christ into his heart New Year’s Day 1990.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. The chapel opens at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with a 12:00 p.m. chapel service, then interment will follow to Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
