Amelia Garza Alvarez, 98, of Brownsville, TX, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 08, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Mendez, Tamaulipas, Mexico on May 08, 1926.
She is preceded in death by her father Consuelo Garza and her mother Altagracia Alvarez; her husband Blas Perez; and her 3 children Felipe Perez Garza, Rosaelia Perez Garza, and Oscar Salinas Garza.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Raquel Perez, Blas Perez, Olga Galvan, Matilde Perez, Gilberto Perez, Leonor Perez, Servando Perez, and Consuelo Perez; and 58 grand and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with recitation of The Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Services will conclude at the end of the evening.
