Mario Avendaño Cárdenas, 83, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away on Monday, September 3rd, at Valley Regional Medical Center. He was born in H. Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, on June 19th, 1941.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mario Avendaño Velazquez and Josefina Cárdenas de Avendaño.
Left to cherish his memories are his devoted wife of fifty-eight years, Luz del Carmen Lopez de Avendaño, his son Mario Avendaño Lopez, his daughter Leyla Avendaño de Peña, his daughter in law Charity Avendaño, his son in law Jorge Peña Cromack, grandchildren Alexa,
Andrea, & Jorge Peña and Natalya, Amelia, & Leyla Avendaño.
He was a man of few words, but when he spoke, they were profound and impactful. His life was defined by his resolute dedication to his beloved family. He put the needs and happiness of his loved ones above all else. His selflessness, kindness, and unwavering support created a strong foundation for his family leaving a behind a legacy of love, faith, and the importance of family.
A mass will be held in his honor on Friday, September 6th, at 7:00PM at St. Mary Mother of the Church, 1914 Barnard Rd., Brownsville, Texas.
