Eduardo Luis Vasquez

Eduardo Luis Vasquez

Eduardo Luis Vasquez, 69, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted father, uncle, grandfather, brother, and friend entered into eternal rest on March 11, 2023 at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Olmito, Texas on October 16, 1953.

He is preceded in death by his parents Elias Vasquez and Maria de la Luz Vasquez; his wife Rachel Vasquez; and two brothers Arturo Vasquez, and Zalatiel Vasquez.

Left to cherish his memory are his children Roberto, Jessica, Skatey, Eddie, Elias, and Abby; siblings Janie, Joe, Elias, Eloise, Mary Lou, Genny, and Linda. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

As a youngster Eddie loved to run track. He had his lessons of ups and more than his fair share of downs, but most importantly Eddie eventually ran to The Lord. When he asked God to be his Savior and he truly repented-he had a mission. He wanted to let his family know there is nothing you can ever do to separate you from God’s  Love. He knew this because God had pulled him out of the pits of hell. Though he suffered with his physical ailments, he left in peace knowing that yet as a sinner he was crossing over to the other side to his restful sleep in Christ. One day when Jesus returns Eddie’s spirit will be reunited with his new perfect body and in the Heavens, we will praise God and in unison with the angels thank Him for all his mercy, grace, and unyielding love. For those who did not have a chance to talk to him before he departed, he would have told you he loves you, but that God loves you more. More importantly he would have looked you straight in the eye and asked you “have you accepted Christ as your Savior?†If not, let’s pray, if yes “Glory Hallelujah!!†We Love you Eddie, will miss you, until we meet again.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 16, 2023, from 1PM to 8PM with a prayer service at 6PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services will conclude at the end of the evening.

Services are under the guidance of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Crematory & Flower Shop. 657 Springmart Blvd., Brownsville, Texas. (956) 350-8485
