Hilda Longoria

Hilda Longoria, age 80, passed away on March 7, 2023, in Brownsville, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 19, 1942, in Monterrey, Mexico.


Hilda was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who was deeply loved by her family and friends. She was married to Guadalupe Longoria for 53 years before his passing. Hilda was a caring and compassionate person who always put others first. She was known for her warm smile, caring ways, and her calm demeanor.


In her free time, Hilda enjoyed gardening, cooking, going on outings with her children, and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


Hilda is survived by her 8 children: Norma Danache (Ernesto), Dora Loera (Jesús), Martha Sosa (Melquiades+), Sylvia Rodríguez (José Guadalupe), Nora Berlanga (Roberto), José Guadalupe Longoria (Aracely), Linda Gallegos (Eduardo), and Blanca Guerra (Roberto Carlos). She also leaves behind 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

A service will be held in Hilda’s honor on Friday, March 10, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation continues at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. With a celebration of life mass to be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 12:45 PM. Hilda will be laid to rest at Buena Vista Burial Park later that day, at 2:00 PM.
