Sylvia Rodriguez Canales, 70, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend entered into eternal rest on January 24, 2023, at Valley Baptist Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Brownsville, TX on May 10, 1952.
She is preceded in death by her parents Paula Rodriguez and Raul Rodriguez and two brothers Lino Rodriguez and David Rodriguez.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband Gregorio Antonio Canales; her son Greg A. Canales; two daughters Melissa Martinez and Andrea Delia Canales; 15 grandchildren; five sisters Carmen Saldivar, Elida Taylor, Celia Garza, Sandy Hall and Pauline Rodriguez; two brothers Juan Rodriguez and Esteban Rodriguez. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, January 26, 2023, from 1PM to 8PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation continues Friday, January 27, 2023, at 11AM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be at 2PM at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment will follow at 3PM at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
