Josefina H. Castillo, 85, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend entered into eternal rest on January 7, 2023, at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Anahuac, Nuevo Leon, Mexico on August 16, 1937.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ernesto Castillo; siblings Maria Luisa Herrera, and Ruben Herrera; parents Tomasa Quiroga Herrera and Ventura Herrera.
Left to cherish her memory is her children Ernesto (Juanis) Castillo, Carmen Castillo, Luis (Sylvia) Castillo, Arturo (Laura) Castillo, and Roberto (Susana) Castillo; grandchildren Ernesto Jr., Gabriela, Randy, Aaron, Alma, Elizabeth, Luis Jr., Melissa, Arturo Jr., Adriane, Osvaldo, and Dante; 26 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, from 1PM to 8PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation continues Thursday, January 19, 2023, at 11AM with funeral mass at 2PM at San Eugenio de Mazenod Catholic Church. Interment to follow at 3PM at Buena Vista Burial Park.
