Tomas Flores, 38, of Brownsville, TX devoted husband, father, son, nephew, cousin, coworker, and friend, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Citizens Medical Center in Victoria, TX surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Brownsville, TX.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Tomas Flores & Juliana Y. Flores, maternal grandparents, Rafael H. Rodriguez & Hilaria Infante Rodriguez, his father-in-law, Cosme Gallegos, and brother-in-law Arnold Gallegos.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 10 years, Elvira Flores, his daughters, Griselda & Alyssa, his father, Guadalupe Y. Flores, his mother, Nora Rodriguez and mother-in-law, Emilia Gallegos. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, sister-in-law, nephews.
Tomas was a man of few words. He loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed going hunting and fishing every chance he had. He loved cooking out, whether it was on the grill or his Blackstone, but fajitas were his specialty. He loved cooking for his girls when they would ask him for something specific. He really enjoyed taking spontaneous trips to Vegas with his wife any chance they got. He talked about going to live out there temporarily, just to see what that was like. He also enjoyed watching the Houston Astros and his Philadelphia Eagles (it was a house divided with his mom). Tomas spent most of his adult life working hard in the oil field. He had a goal, which he ultimately reached, to work for The Texas General Land Office – Oil Spill Prevention & Response.
He will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, from 1PM to 8PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation continues on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at 12PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral mass to follow at 2PM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Interment will be at 3PM at Buena Vista Burial Park.
