Araceli Galvan Cardenas

Araceli Galvan Cardenas, 55, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted partner, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, entered into eternal rest Sunday, January 1, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 28, 1967, in Matamoros, Mexico.

Araceli loved to design and to decorate. She had a passion for fashion, music, and dance. She loved to be around her family, friends, and her Baby. Araceli will be dearly missed. 


She is preceded in death by her mother, Maria Del Consuelo Galvan Cardenas; paternal grandparents Jose Cardenas Lopez, Felicitas Lucio de Cardenas; maternal grandparents Concepsion Garcia De Galvan and Francisco Galvan.


Left to cherish her memory is her father Jose Cardenas, her siblings Sonia Espinoza (Rosendo), Griselda Chavez (Martin), Irasema Cardenas, Jose Luis Cardenas (Adelina), and Destiny Cardenas Angeles, her life partner Julio Olguin, her daughters, Becky Angeles, Veronica Angeles Sandoval (Elias), Carla Alejandra Izaguirre (Louis) and 9 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, January 7, 2023, from 1PM to 8PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation continues Sunday, January 8, 2023, from 1PM to 8PM with a prayer service at 6PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel opens at 10AM on Monday, January 9, 2023, with a chapel service at 12PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Interment to follow at 1PM at Buena Vista Burial Park.
