Israel Barajas, 61, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend entered into eternal rest on August 20, 2020 at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville surrounded by his loving family. He was born in H. Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. He is preceded in death by his parents Jose Barajas Diaz and Maria Limon Valencia; wife Elma Atkinson-Barajas, and his brother Jesus Barajas.
Left to cherish his memory are his children Abby Barajas, Edna (Carlos) Arizpe, Israel Barajas, Julian Flores; grandson Isaiah Arizpe, and numerous brothers, sisters, nephews, and nieces.
Israel took pride in giving his wife and children all that they desired. He served as an usher in his church and loved serving God in any way he could.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2020 from 1 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 6 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel opens at 8 AM on Friday, August 28, 2020 with burial at 9 AM at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
