Frances C. Perez

Frances C. Perez

Frances C. Perez passed away on Tuesday the 16th of June 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was 81 years of age. Frances was born in Mercedes, Texas to her late parents Pablo Cortez and Manuela [Lucio] Cortez.

Her late husband and her were members of the church Eben-Ezer pastored by the late Reverend Roberto and Angelita Hernandez when they were called to serve as pastors.  By the grace of God, she pastored a total of 50 years, 10 years by her late husband’s side, Alfonso Perez, and 40 years by herself the ‘Templo Maranatha’ with the help of God.  She continued the work her husband started in 1976 in Matamoros, Tamaulipas MX and the missionary work in Veracruz MX. The work has produced 7 established churches with 3 missions where many souls now receive spiritual nurture and care.

She is dearly loved by her family, brothers and sisters, church family and even the nurses and chaplain that attended her on her last days. She was known for visiting the sick and helping those in need. We thank God for her life of service and know she is now in heaven and doing what she enjoyed more than anything which was to sing. She now sings with the angels, face to face with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Besides her late husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her baby boy Javier Perez, her daughter Sandra Perez [Morales], siblings Ruben Cortez, Paul Cortez, Guadalupe Reyna and Elida Cortez.  Survivors include her children Alfonso Perez Jr., Cynthia F. Andrade [Jesus Martin Andrade], Sylvia Moralez [Angel Morales], and Xavier Perez [Karen Perez] 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Also surviving siblings Andres Cortez, Ricardo Cortez, Irma Lucio, Magdalena Cortez [Xavier Elizondo], Yolanda Cortez [Frank Bejarano] and Esther Lugo [Rene Lugo].
