Roberto R. Rodriguez was born on October 23, 1959. He peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 17, 2026. A lifelong resident of Brownsville, Texas, Roberto was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, neighbor, and friend whose presence brought love and strength to all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father Rodolfo F. Rodriguez, his mother Elodia Rodriguez, his grandmother Regina (Coty) Rodriguez, his brother Richard Rodriguez, and his in-laws Geronimo and Casimira Sierra.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Rosa Maria Rodriguez, his sons Robert Rodriguez Jr. (Yendi Rodriguez), Randy Rodriguez, and Rick Rodriguez (Noely Rodriguez), three grandchildren (Dante Rodriguez, Hanna Rodriguez, and Jaylyn H. Vega), his sister, Rosie Molina (Joe Molina), his brothers Rudy Rodriguez (Rosa Maria Rodriguez), Rolando Rodriguez (Ana Rodriguez), Ruben Rodriguez (Annie Rodriguez), and Ramon Rodriguez (Carmen Rodriguez), and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was his wife Rosa’s love of her life. He always found a way to put a smile on people’s faces. He touched so many lives, and his presence always lit the room. He was the best person to go to when everything felt like falling apart or if you needed advice. His love will continue to grow, ensuring that his memory and values will never be forgotten.
Roberto Rodriguez was a God-Fearing man who enjoyed morning prayer and bible study with his wife Rosa before starting the day. Roberto was a huge Houston Astros fan who enjoyed watching the games with his family.
Roberto was very close and united and his passing is a huge loss to all of us. We will continue to make every day a family day to remember him even though without him it will never be the same. His greatest legacy is his family, who will carry his love, strength, and values for generations to come.
Funeral Services will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 29th, 2026. Visitation will take place from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. for immediate family members, and from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for friends, other family members, and guests. A special prayer service will be held from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Services conclude at the end of the evening.
