Ernesto Cisneros (65) of Brownsville, Texas passed away on April 13, 2026

Preceded in death by: his parents Leonzo Cisneros and Maria Guadalupe Garza, his two brothers Leonzo Cisneros Jr. and Federico Cisneros

He is survived by his wife Felipa C. Cisneros and his children Ernesto Cisneros Jr., Erina C Herrera (Mario), Francisco Cuellar, Jennifer L. Sosa (Stephen), Edward Sosa Jr. (Debra), 17 grandkids, Siblings: Frank Cisneros, Oralia Gonzalez, Yolanda Galvan,  Ofelia Molina, Maria Blanca Cisneris, Juan Cisneros, Jose Alberto Cisneros, Sylvia Cisneros and Alexandro Cisneros.

He was a retired shrimp boat captain who spent 49 years in the shrimping industry and 30 years as a captain. Retired in April 2022.

“Captain set your course and kick back in the wheelhouse you are heading home”

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 17th, 2026 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for all friends and loved ones. A Holy Rosary will commence at 6:00 p.m. The chapel opens at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 18th, 2026. The burial will proceed at 11:00 a.m. at Guillen Community Cemetery.

    What can I say about my suegro, Met him as a teenager I grew up and became closer to he’s familia. He was a stern roll model in my life very grateful, I had the honor of being part of he’s family.We will continue to honor him the remainder of my life. We will always and forever have him in our hearts. Until we see you again suegro much love.🤲
