Jose Francisco (Frankie) Galvan Jr.

Jose Francisco (Frankie) Galvan Jr. was born in Brownsville, Texas, on January 19, 1972. He was the son of Cristina M. Galvan and brother to Mary Ann Guillen (Noe). He was raised in Port Isabel, Texas, where he spent much of his life before marrying his beloved wife of 37 years, Maria Guadalupe (Lupita) Betancourt Galvan, and making their home in Brownsville, Texas.

His greatest blessings were his daughter, Faith Francine Galvan (Gualberto Huerta), and his grandson, Caleb Hunter Huerta, who was truly his pride and joy.

Frankie, as many knew him, or “Pancho” to his closest friends, had a special way of bringing smiles to everyone he met. His contagious laughter, warm smile, and positive spirit made those around him feel loved and cherished. One of his greatest gifts was his ability to bring old memories back to life. He could tell the same stories time and time again, and somehow, each retelling became even funnier, filling the room with laughter.

His love for music and attending rock concerts with his close friends was one of his favorite pastimes. He also loved opening his home to family, whether it was to enjoy fresh fish, calamari, and shrimp or gather for a backyard BBQ. These moments spent surrounded by family and friends brought him tremendous joy and were a true reflection of the love he had for those closest to him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Francisco Galvan Sr.

Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort in the memories we shared, the love he gave, and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Frankie’s laughter, stories, and love for life will forever remain in our hearts. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
