In Loving Memory of Rodolfo Juan Santillana
Rodolfo “Rudy” Juan Santillana, 71, of Brownsville, entered eternal rest on August 21, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on August 11, 1955 in Brownsville, to Santiago and Mildred Santillana. Rudy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Throughout his life, he was known for his mischievous sense of humor, his coaching, and fun-loving personality. He was a caring, loving, and supportive father and grandfather.
Rudy had a passion for riding his Harley-Davidson. He loved the freedom of the open road and the time spent riding with family and friends. He also enjoyed spending quiet days fishing, fixing old cars and enjoying the simple pleasures of life. When he wasn’t riding or fishing, you could often find him on the golf course, enjoying a round of golf and the company of good friends.
More than anything, Rudy loved his family. He cherished the time spent together and took great pride in his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. His stories, laughter, and unforgettable personality will be remembered and treasured by everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Concepcion Oralia Santillana; his children, Raul (Lupita) Mares, Mike (Erica) Santillana, and Marcia (Alvaro) Moreira; grandchildren, Alyssa , Michael, Samantha, Emma, Alexa, Alex, Daniel, Luis Alejandro, and Griselda; great-grandchildren, Saylor, Sebastian, Zayden and Rosie; Siblings Mildred Garcia, Sylvia Santillana, and Sophie Garza . He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Selina Lopez. He is also survived by numerous relatives and dear friends.
Services will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Brownsville, TX. Visitation is Tuesday, August 25th, 2026 from 1pm-8pm. Rosary at 6pm. A Chapel Service will be held on August 26th, 2026 at 10am followed by burial service at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Rudy will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His memory will live on through his family and all those who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
Ride on, Dad. Until we see you again.
