Celia Hinojosa, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, at the age of 87, surrounded by all her family. She was born on August 14, 1938, to Juan Rodriguez and Carolina De La Fuente. Celia was a very selfless and giving person who always put the needs of others before her own. Her kindness, generosity, and loving heart touched everyone who knew her. She was also a woman of deep faith whose prayers and devotion guided her throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rodolfo Hinojosa, her parents, Juan Rodriguez and Carolina De La Fuente, and several brothers and sisters.
Celia is survived by her devoted son, Jaime Hinojosa (Norma), and her daughter, Sara Alaniz (Tony), who were the love of her life. She was a proud grandmother of six and cherished great-grandmother of nine. She is also survived by her brothers, one sister, nieces, nephews, and many other family members and friends who will forever treasure her memory.
Visitation will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Brownsville, Texas, on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m.
The chapel opens at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, May 29th, 2026 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. A chapel service will be held at 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow at 12:00 p.m. at Guillen Community Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Laura and Mari, who always treated Celia like a princess with their love, kindness, and care.
Celia’s love, strength, and devotion to her family will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Celia Hinojosa, querida madre, abuela y bisabuela, falleció en paz el 26 de mayo de 2026, a la edad de 87 años, rodeada de toda su familia. Nació el 14 de agosto de 1938, hija de Juan Rodríguez y Carolina De La Fuente. Celia fue una persona muy generosa y desinteresada que siempre puso las necesidades de los demás antes que las suyas. Su bondad, generosidad y corazón amoroso tocaron la vida de todos los que la conocieron. También fue una mujer de profunda fe, cuyas oraciones y devoción la guiaron a lo largo de toda su vida.
Le precedieron en la muerte su amado esposo, Rodolfo Hinojosa; sus padres, Juan Rodríguez y Carolina De La Fuente; así como varios hermanos y hermanas.
Le sobreviven su devoto hijo, Jaime Hinojosa (Norma), y su hija, Sara Alaniz (Tony), quienes fueron el amor de su vida. Fue una orgullosa abuela de seis nietos y una querida bisabuela de nueve bisnietos. También le sobreviven sus hermanos, una hermana, sobrinos, sobrinas y muchos otros familiares y amigos que atesorarán para siempre su memoria.
La velación se llevará a cabo en Sunset Memorial Funeral Home en Brownsville, Texas, el jueves 28 de mayo de 2026, de 1:00 p.m. a 9:00 p.m., con el rezo del Santo Rosario a las 6:00 p.m.
El servicio religioso en la capilla se celebrará el viernes 29 de mayo de 2026 a las 8:00 a.m., seguido del sepelio a las 12:00 p.m. en el Cementerio Comunitario Guillen.
