Juan De Dios Cantu Jr.

Juan De Dios Cantu Jr was born on January 28th, 1983 in Brownsville, TX and passed away on May 9th 2026 at the age of 43. 

Juan was a devoted husband, loving father, and a man deeply dedicated to his family. His last position was as a Lead Security Monitor, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.

Known for his sense of humor, Juan loved making people laugh with his jokes and bringing joy to those around him. He enjoyed playing basketball and had a passion for collecting shoes, caps and jerseys. Above all, he cherished spending time with his loved ones. Juan was admired by many and loved by everyone who knew him for his kindness, loyalty, and caring heart.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Y Garcia; his daughter, Yaneli N. Cantu; his son, Jacob Y. Cantu; and his daughter, Kristen A. Garcia his father, Juan De Dios Cantu; his brother, Carlos A. Cantu; his sisters, Yadira Nava and Isis Cantu; and his beloved cousin, Oscar Cantu Jr, whom he loved like a brother.

He is preceded in death by his mother Olivia Cantu.

Juan will be remembered as a great husband, father, and friend whose love and laughter touched many lives. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation is scheduled from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 18^th, 2026, with prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. The chapel will open at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19^th, 2026, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with a chapel service commencing at 2:00 p.m. following the interment at 3:00 p.m. at Los Laureles Community Cemetery.
