Rafael Hernandez passed away on May 7, 2026, at the age of 85. Rafael was born on April 30, 1941. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Olivia B. Hernandez, and his grandson, Rafael Hernandez III.
His children: Consuelo Perez (Carlos Perez), Rafael Hernandez Jr., and Raul Hernandez.
His grandchildren: Carla M. Perez, Charlene Perez, Carmen J. Hernandez, and Raul E. Hernandez. His great-grandchildren: Zachary A. Blevins, Cecilia J. Rodriguez, and Camila J. Rodriguez.
His brothers: Jose Hernandez, Eugenio Hernandez (Maria), Martin Hernandez, and Juan A. Hernandez; His sisters: Sylvia Portillo, Josefina Rodriguez, and Maria A. Hernandez.
Rafael will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and will continue to honor his memory through the generations he helped build.
Visitation will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 12th, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Holy Rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will continue Wednesday, May 13th, 2026, with the chapel opening at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel and interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Buena Vista Burial Park.
