October 27, 1933 – February 11, 2026
Ernestina M. Garcia, lovingly known as “Tina” or “Chee-nah,” passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on October 27, 1933, in Harlingen, Texas, Tina was the third of nine children and built a life rooted in love, laughter, and family. She lived in San Benito and later in Brownsville, Texas, where she moved to be closer to her son, a testament to what mattered most to her: family.
Tina was preceded in death by her parents, Esteban Molina and Alfonsa Martinez; her beloved husband, Wenceslao Garcia; siblings, Juan Molina, Reyes Molina, Santiago Molina, Maria Molina, and Pedro Molina.
A devoted homemaker and mother, Tina poured her heart into caring for those she loved. She is survived by her son, Rosendo Garcia and his wife, Esperanza Garcia; her grandchildren, Crystal Jane Garcia and Allen Wes Garcia (wife Hilary Garcia); and her treasured great-grandchildren, Georgia Andrea Loya, Charlotte Hope Loya, and Graham Robert Ross Garcia; siblings, Guadalupe Molina, Jesus Molina and Esteban Molina numerous nieces and nephews.
Tina was fun, outgoing, and endlessly warm. She had a positive spirit that drew people in and made everyone feel welcome. She loved being surrounded by friends and family, and nothing made her light up more than seeing her great-grandchildren. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, her happiness was contagious, and if there was a Loteria or bingo card nearby, she was ready.
Those who knew Tina will remember her for her loving heart, her vibrant personality,
and the joy she found in the simple things: good company, good food, and a good game of bingo.
