Enoch Kong

In Loving Memory of Enoch Kong
April 24, 1994 – October 15, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Enoch Kong announces his passing on October 15, 2025, at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas. He was 31 years old.

Born on April 24, 1994, in Garden Grove, California, Enoch was a beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. He attended the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), where he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing.

He is preceded in death by his grandpa, Chae Sol Kong, his grandma, Ok Hui Choe, his grandpa, Tok Kun Choe, and his aunt, Chin Son “Linda” Cho.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving parents, Suk Chin Kong and Unsil Kong; his sister, Heidi Kong-Garcia and brother-in-law, Miguel Angel Garcia Jr.; his sister, Sarah Kong van Keulen and brother-in-law, Laurent van Keulen; his niece, Aristea Garcia, and nephew, Miguel Angel Garcia III, whom he adored; and his grandma, Un Soon Kong. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him deeply.

Enoch will be remembered for his kindness, loyalty, and the depth of his heart. He had an innate ability to think of others before himself, often putting the needs of those he loved above his own. To his niece and nephew, he wasn’t just “Uncle Enoch”—he was their biggest cheerleader, protector, and playmate, always going above and beyond to make them smile. His devotion to family ran deep; he dreamed of giving his parents the peaceful, joy-filled life they deserved—complete with a boat for his dad and well-earned rest from years of hard work.

Those who knew Enoch knew his stubborn streak was matched only by his passion for life. He was intelligent, thoughtful, and determined to make a difference. His heart, though sensitive, was immense—he wore it on his sleeve and poured love freely into the world around him.

Outside of his deep love for family, Enoch found joy in the gym, where he challenged himself daily; in archery, where his focus and patience shone; and in reading, where he found inspiration and peace.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life Service and Eulogy at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services conclude at the end of the evening.

Enoch’s warmth, humor, and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. His presence will be deeply missed but his spirit will live on through every memory, every laugh, and every act of love he inspired.

Services are under the guidance of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Crematory & Flower Shop. 657 Springmart Blvd., Brownsville, Texas. (956) 350-8485
