San Juana Rodriguez aka Janie or Juana La Malias of Brownsville, Texas was a devoted, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She entered into eternal rest on October 5, 2025, at the McAllen Heart Hospital surrounded by her loving family, her children, her 2 favorite nieces, two of her brothers, and her sister-in-law

She is preceded in death by her mother and grandmother cousin Norma Buitureida and long-time friend Rosy.

Left to cherish her memory are her 6 children Enrique Amanda Yesenia Josh Priscilla and Rene. Her 5 brothers Henry, Ramon, Popo, Chino, and Junior. She had just welcomed her 14th grandchild this past year who she adored most because he looks identical to her, her cat Whitey, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins because to her everyone she took care of was family not by blood, but by love.

Janie was known for her strong personality. She was the life of the party most caring, big-hearted individual you would ever meet. She always spoke her mind, never caring about anyone else’s opinions. Juana was the person you could always count on if you needed a meal, a place to stay, to talk, or even needed to be straightened out, she was the one to do it all. She also loved making decorations, it was a great pastime for her to show her creativity when she wasn’t taking care of someone. She will always be remembered as she was always well dressed wearing either black and gold or her famous leopard print outfits with her red lipstick, bangs, and her flashy jewelry. Never forget her love for dancing because she was always Ready to party, to cook, counsel or even to throw a good right hook if needed. As she would say she was definitely one of a kind and will be greatly missed.
