Celso Oliveira, 82, entered into the presence of the Lord on September 10, 2025 in Woodlands Texas. He was born on July 23, 1943 in Brownsville Texas.
He’s preceded in death by his parents Raul and Rebecca Salazar Oliveira, son Celso Oliveira Jr., and brothers Raul Oliveira (Amanda Garcia†), Rodolfo Oliveira (Mary Alvear†), and Jorge Luis Oliveira (Martha Cosay).
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Irma (Toby) Gonzales Oliveira, son Cesar Oliveira (Melissa Barnett), daughter Criselda Oliveira Austin (Paul Austin), daughter-in-law Linda Lamas; grandchildren: Erica Oliveira ( Amin Sadri), Prisella Oliveira, Gabriella Oliveira (Brandon Conway), Sonya Oliveira (Gabriel Sanchez), Alex Oliveira, Christina Oliveira (Shane Garcia), Raene Oliveira Anderson (Taylor Anderson), Travis Austin, Rebecca Austin, great grandson, Brendan Gabe Conway; Sisters: Herminia Oliveira Hernandez (Edelmiro Hernandez†) and Amparo Olivia Oliveira Burnias (Ramiro Burnias) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A lifelong Catholic, Celso lived a life defined by love, service and hard work. Proud to serve his country, he was a member of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War Era. After his service, he built a long career with the airlines, and in his later years, he worked for the school district. His proudest and greatest achievement was owning an operating Oliveira Tamales in Spring Texas.
On June 18, 1966, he married the love of his life, Toby, and together they created a home where family, friends and neighbors were welcomed and loved. They often had a date night at the dance hall with their compadres to hear their favorite conjunto bands like Tony de la Rosa, the Hometown Boys, Los Dos Gilbertos and many others.
In retirement he enjoyed spending time with family, going on vacation with friends including regular trips to casinos, eating out, and loving and caring for his forever love.
Celebration of life service and visitation will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 1:30 p.m. with a scheduled departure at 2:30 p.m. to Buena Vista Burial Park. Inurnment of ashes ceremony will begin at 3:00 p.m. at the Mausoleum near Buena Vista Burial Park entrance. Military honors will be presented by the Veterans of Foreign War Post 2035 Funeral Detail at 3:05 p.m. followed by a blessing of ashes and closing remarks will conclude services.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen

Celso was an excellent true friend of 52 years and we will forever miss him. It was such a pleasure and an honor to have known him and have him in our lives.. so many dances, trips, movies, and dinners that we enjoyed as a foursome. Until we see you again, our friend, Rest In Peace. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
