Minerva T. Lopez

In Loving Memory of Minerva T. Lopez

October 10, 1949 – June 24, 2025

With hearts full of love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Minerva T. Lopez of Brownsville, Texas. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Minerva entered into eternal rest with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family. She was born in Brownsville on October 10, 1949.

Minerva was a shining light in the lives of all who knew her—gentle, nurturing, and full of compassion. Known affectionately as “Minnie,” she had a special gift for making people feel seen, heard, and loved. Her warm presence, tender heart, and generous spirit left a lasting impression wherever she went.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Roberto and Sara Treviño; her cherished husband, Antonio R. Lopez; her dear brother, Gilberto Treviño; and her beloved sister, Orelia Garcia.

Her beautiful memory will be carried on by her children, Ramon Gonzales Jr. (Sandra Lee), Eric Gonzales (Elsa), and Jessica Lyn Gonzales; her adoring grandchildren, Monica Lyn Gonzales, Ramon Gonzales III, Sarah Alyssa Gonzales, Katelyn Gonzales, and Eric Gonzales Jr.; her brothers, Roberto Treviño Jr. (Lucy) and Reynaldo Treviño (Laurie); and her sisters, Delia Jones (David) and Romelia Rivera (Jerry).

Minerva lived a life anchored in love and faith. A proud and devoted follower of Jesus Christ, she was always eager to share her testimony and speak of God’s endless goodness. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family—laughing, encouraging, praying, and creating memories that will live in our hearts forever.

She loved attending her church, New Life Brownsville, baking her famous mandarin cake for her loved ones, and offering a listening ear or comforting embrace to anyone in need. Her words were wise, her laughter was contagious, and her love was unconditional.

Minerva leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and unwavering faith. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will live on in every life she touched.

We will miss her deeply, love her always, and honor her forever.
