Beatriz Medellin Rodriguez, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, entered eternal rest on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Sunshine Haven Hospice surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico on August 7, 1939.
She is preceded in death by her father Aurelio Medellin and her mother Manuela Medellin; her husband, Gilberto (Beto) Q. Rodriguez; her daughter Rosalinda Rodriguez; her siblings Maria Dolores Rodriguez, Ana Maria Ramirez, Aurelio Medellin Jr., Gabriel Medellin, and Delia Salome Medellin.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Beatriz Rodriguez, Gilberto Rodriguez Jr. (Lupita Rodriguez), Javier Rodriguez (Amparo Rodriguez), and David Rodriguez; and numerous grandchildren; and her siblings Virginia Barrera and Roman Medellin.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025 with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services resume on Monday, June 23, 2025 at 8:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church and interment will follow at 10:30 a.m. to Los Laureles Community Cemetery.
