Elida L. Montano, 81, of Brownsville, TX devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, entered into eternal rest, June 16, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Arcabus, Tamaulipas, Mexico on June 02, 1944.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Juan Montano, sister Juanita Lopez, brother Vicent Lopez, father Petronilo Lopez, and her mother Baudilia Lopez.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Juan F. Montano (Griselda Montano), Maria-Elena Charles (Jose Guillermo Charles), Jorge L. Montano, Elva Uribe (Juan Uribe), Maribel Montano Garcia (Jose Garcia) and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. The chapel opens at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2025 and a chapel service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Interment is to follow at 12:00 p.m. to San Pedro Cemetery.
