Amelia Cantú Padilla, 64, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted wife, sister, aunt, and friend,entered eternal rest on Thursday, March 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Mexico on November 27, 1960.
She is preceded in death by her parents Andres Cantú Betancurt, Clara Padilla De Cantú †; grandmother Francisca Betancurt †; and sister Ma. Dolores Cantú † Padilla.
She is survived by her wife, Iliana Perez De Cantú; and her siblings, Felipe Cantú, Francisca Monita, Clara Luz Hernandez, Rosalinda Silva, Ma. Del Refugio Mireles, Andres Cantú, Leonardo Cantú, Yolanda Cantú, and José Bacilio Cantú.
Amelia was a vibrant and joyful person who loved to work, dance, and make others laugh. She cherished spending time with everyone, often sharing meals and bringing people together. Affectionately nicknamed “Emily Tacos” by her coworkers, she was known for her warmth and lively spirit.
The services will take place on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a prayer Service at 5:00 p.m. Services will conclude at the end of the evening.
