Juanita Camarillo

Juanita “Janie” Camarillo, 69, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 9, 2025, in San Antonio, TX, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Brownsville, TX on December 17, 1955.

Janie, was the best mother and grandmother that anyone could ask for. Her beautiful soul always showered us with unconditional love. She was a devoted caregiver to her family and her loving husband until his passing. Her grandchildren as she often referred to as her “five angels” were her pride and joy and they are what motivated her to cherish life. She was always ready for an adventure and helped create so many beautiful memories that will continue to live with us forever. Janie was always there for anyone who needed her and guided us through our journey. She always made friends anywhere she went and was the life of the party. Her warmth always made everyone feel special and welcomed. She holds a very special piece of all of our hearts and she will forever be missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents Atenojes Lopez and Maria Magdalena Longoria; her husband, Joe A. Camarillo; her siblings Guadalupe Lopez, Pablo Lopez, and Roy Lopez.

Juanita is survived by her children Cassandra Lee Rosales (Luis) and Joey Camarillo (Daisy); her grandchildren Joey DeAndre Camarillo, Devin Matthew Camarillo, Aiden Anthony Rosales, Kalysta Lynn Rosales, and Dylan Madison Camarillo; and her siblings Zoila Barrios, Alfredo Lopez, Jesse Garza (Elsa), Diana Hinojosa (Jorge), Hilda Gomez (Leo), and Anna Garza (Raul).

Visitation is scheduled from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025, with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. The chapel opens at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment is to follow at 1:00 p.m. to Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.

    She Danced through life leaving memories of Fun, Kindness,and left Foot prints on every Heart she touched..
    God took her home it was his will .. But in our Hearts she lives on Still..
