Margarita Maldonado, 78, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted, wife, mother, aunt, and friend entered eternal rest on Monday, March 10, 2025, in Brownsville, TX, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Mexico, on October 24, 1946.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Maria Martinez; her husband, Manuel Maldonado; and her siblings, Jose Martinez and Juan Martinez.
Margarita Maldonado is survived by her children; Maria Maldonado, Melissa Maldonado (Felix), and Manuel Maldonado Jr. (Vicky); her grandchildren Johnny, Jaime, Klarissa, Itzell, Manuel III, Michelle, Mathew, Mia, Violet, Ty, Mina, and Max; and her 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. The chapel opens at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. to Buena Vista Burial Park.
