Maria Graciela Bautista, 74, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, in Brownsville, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Monterrey, NL, Mexico on May 30, 1950.
Gracie was a dedicated nurse who everyone went for advice and she was ready to lend a helping hand. She loved to cook, dance and loved on her family. In her final days she was surrounded by her children and loved ones. We will forever miss her she was our rock.
Maria was preceded in death by her father Raul Hernandez; stepdaughter Olga Zuniga; and her brother Eduardo Hernandez (Billy).
Left to cherish her memory is her mom Victoria Hernandez; her children Lorena (Jose) Olivarez, Victoria (James) Lowe; Juan Raul (Rosemary) Zuniga, Julio Cesar (America) Lara; stepson Roberto Zuniga; 20 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; siblings Raul (Liz) Hernandez Jr., Magoo (Janie) Hernandez, Natalia (Richard) Zapata.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025, with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m., at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services conclude at the end of the evening.
