Jose Relio Vazquez, Sr., 87, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend entered eternal rest on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Sunshine Haven surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Mexico on September, 16, 1937.
Relio was a dedicated entrepreneur who worked tirelessly to provide for his family. He had a love for cars and trucks and was always eager to share his knowledge. His love for vehicles was only surpassed by his love for his family, and he leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and cherished memories.
He is preceded in death by his loving wives Irma Vazquez Herrera and Julia Vazquez Alvarado and an infant son Martin Vazquez Alvarado.
Relio is survived by his children, Jose Relio Vazquez, Jr. (Catalina†), Francisco Saul Vazquez, Aurora Vazquez Mendoza (Cesar), Irma Vazquez, and Jesus Vazquez; and his grandchildren Adrian Vazquez, Annette Vazquez, Vanessa N. Vazquez Hinojosa (Jorge), Julio Cesar Mendoza II, Arianna Karissa Mendoza, Ivan Gael Mendoza, and Julie Ann Vazquez; and his great grandchildren Catalina Andrea Hinojosa and Arlo Sebastian Hinojosa.
Visitation is scheduled from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025, with a Prayer Service at 5:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services conclude at the end of the evening.
