David Martin Barrera, 53, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend entered eternal rest on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Brownsville, Texas on November 10, 1971.
He is preceded in death by his father David Z. Barrera; his maternal grandparents Isidoro & Sara Rodriguez; paternal grandparents Anastacio & Rosita Barrera; and two aunts Guadalupe Palomino & Noemi Gracia.
David is survived by his mother Isabel Rodriguez, brother Marco Antonio Barrera and sister Selma Jo Tragaz; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation continues from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025, with a funeral mass at 2:00 p.m. at Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral and interment to follow at 3:00 p.m. at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
